The consulting and research organization Gartner, focused on the IT industry, has recently placed Mendix at the furthest point in its Magic Quadrant for Ability to Execute in their 2024 report.
Gartner defines LCAPs, low-code application platforms, as "platforms for accelerated development and maintenance of applications, using model-driven tools for the entire application’s technology stack, generative AI and prebuilt component catalogs".
The report also affirms that 60% of organizations in the field of software development will use LCAPs as their main platform for development by 2028. That number is up from 10% in 2024.

According to Gartner, Mendix responded in an efficient manner to the evolution of tools in enterprise development apps. Mendix has focused on "delivering low-code capabilities designed for developers and IT leaders". This came from Mendix's recognition of the transition from traditional enterprise application stacks to low-code platforms.
Marketing Strategy
Mendix's messaging is customized and targeted at three customer personas: CxOs, leaders in software engineering and enterprise architects. With that segmentation, Mendix is able to target users of enterprise LCAPs in an effective manner. Aligned to this, Mendix's ability to uncover the potential of certain industries, such as telecommunications and healthcare has allowed the platform to target growing markets for LCAP adoption.
